Burgau – close and easy

Cabanas Velhas – 1.5 miles, cool beach bar, parking.

Salema – next village west. 3 miles. Long sandy beach, lots of cafes and restaurants

Praia da Luz – town to the east. Touristy

Ingrina & Zavial – see notes above under restaurants – 10 miles west. Stunning

Lagos – Meia Praia, Porto dona Ana. Beaches near Lagos. Very beautiful out of season. Amazing stacks and snorkeling at Porto dona Ana. Porto dos mos is a lovely beach too.

West Coast – Almado, Cordorama, Arrifana, Amoeira and Odeceixe. Ask Lucy and Sean about these. The west coast can be wild so it is best to go when the wind is not blowing from the north or west. These beaches are wild paradise.
